Our Program
Our program focus is on the three things that children spend their entire day in, with and around.
Teachers: Our teachers and staff are our most important asset. All our staff is CPR/ First Aid Certified, registered with MERIT with cleared background check. We are a small, local parent/director operated school and not being tied to a corporate entity enables us to give our teachers the opportunities and support they need to be the best teacher they can be! We do this by providing teachers:
Freedom to shape their curriculum individually to each child.
Opportunities for continuing education from dedicated in-service days to tuition reimbursement.
Health insurance benefits, paid-time off and paid holidays.
Highest ratios of teachers to children in the industry.
Classrooms: Our classrooms are vibrant and nurturing spaces designed to spark curiosity and foster early development.
With a carefully crafted environment filled with sensory experiences and age-appropriate toys, infants are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.
Our toddler and preschool rooms are dynamic spaces to support our curriculum/weekly rotating play centers. The rooms are designed to be learning environments where curiosity is encouraged, friendships blossom, and imaginations soar.
Curriculum: Our curriculum supports emergent learning through circle time, small group and enrichment activities. Our teachers pay close attention to children’s questions, passions and interests and have the freedom and flexibility to mold the curriculum to support the learning needs of individual children.
Throughout all that we do with children, we incorporate WA State Early Learning and Development Guidelines with an understanding of how these guidelines align with expectations for Kindergarteners. We understand that early childhood is defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children as birth to eight years and believe that content must be presented in a play based, developmentally appropriate manner to meet this age group’s needs. Developmental milestones from birth through kindergarten that we use can be found here. We try to help each child achieve these expectations at a pace that is right for that child. Preschool and Kindergarten standards are embedded in the daily play-based activities of our curriculum.
Circle Time: During circle time children gather together to sing songs, participate in interactive stories, and engage in lively group discussions. These activities promote socialization, language development, and a sense of community among the children, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Enrichment Activities: Incorporating enrichment activities such as yoga, dance, Spanish language and soccer into our curriculum provides children with diverse opportunities to develop physical fitness, mindfulness, balance & coordination, and teamwork skills in a fun and engaging way.
Small Group Activities: With weekly rotating play centers, our curriculum for toddlers & preschoolers is designed to offer age appropriate, diverse range of learning experiences. Play centers provide children with designated areas to explore various activities and interests, fostering independence and decision-making skills. Here’s a sampling of our rotating play centers:
Dramatic Play Center: Equipped with dress-up clothes, props, and play kitchen items, this center encourages imaginative role-playing and social interaction.
Block Center: Here, children can build, stack, and create using blocks of different shapes, sizes, and materials, promoting spatial awareness and problem-solving.
